Mount Baldy Ski Resort 2025.
In 2025, Mount Baldy Ski Resort refers to two distinct ski areas in different locations, each with its own set of characteristics:
Mount Baldy Ski Lifts - California:
Location: Situated in the San Gabriel Mountains, Mount Baldy Ski Lifts is approximately 45 miles from downtown Los Angeles, making it a close escape for those in Southern California.
Terrain: Known for its steep and compact terrain, it offers 26 named trails across 800 acres with a vertical drop of 2,100 feet. The resort features traditional runs, open bowls, chutes, and tree runs, with portions of the mountain facing both north and south, which affects snow conditions throughout the day.
Facilities: It has four fixed-grip double chairlifts and is often described as an "old-school" resort due to its vintage equipment and lack of modern amenities like extensive snowmaking capabilities. The resort has been operational since 1952 and is known for its natural snow dependency, which can lead to varied operational status depending on snowfall.
Snow Conditions: For 2025, recent reports suggest good snow conditions with significant snowfall, making it a skier's dream for those who enjoy natural powder. However, the resort's operations can be inconsistent due to weather dependency.
Public Sentiment: Posts on X have highlighted that Mount Baldy could be one of the snowiest places during certain winter storms, suggesting it might be a prime destination for powder enthusiasts.
Snow and Weather: The resort updates its snow report and weather conditions regularly, with forecasts noted to be somewhat inaccurate due to the microclimate of the area.
For anyone planning to visit either resort in 2025:
California's Mount Baldy would be ideal for those looking for a challenging, less crowded skiing experience with a focus on natural snow conditions. Keep an eye on weather forecasts for operational status.

BEST SNOW IN MOUNT BALDY IN SEVERAL YEARS!
Pacific storm blankets SoCal's best little ski area with four feet of powder
January 30, 2017 By David Reddick
The massive snowfall that has blanketed the West hasn’t forsaken the mountains of Southern California. Locals keep a close eye on these systems, and over the last decade we’ve been regularly disappointed by a shift in the jet stream or warm temperatures. But the most recent series of cold storms graced the raw, rugged terrain of Mount Baldy, a mom-and-pop ski area located just 45 miles from Los Angeles in the San Gabriel Mountains, with four feet of snow, rewarding locals with a day to remember. Hello, old friend, it’s been a while.

MOUNT BALDY SKI RESORT GOT SOME SNOW!
Mountain Report: December 20, 2015
The most recent system to bring precipitation to the area has moved on leaving us with some rain, west winds and a fresh frosting of the white stuff on the trees and ground at higher elevations. The forecast for the week calls for west winds and clear skies for the first half with a small ridge building through Friday with temps climbing up to a bit above normal. The 10 day is starting to discus the possibility of rain after next weekend but is very vague at this point. However our friends up in the Sierra have become a bit more bullish with their forecasts. Check it out.
We will be closed this week until Friday when we open for the holiday break 7 days a week for scenic rides to the Top of the Notch restaurant, snow tubing and a small terrain park accessed by Lift #2.
Come hang with us at Rok House Brewery Wednesday night when we award them with their trophy for winning the Battle of the Brews this summer and watch Nimbus Independent’s release of ‘After the Sky Falls’.
See you on the mountain, if we don’t see you at Rok first.
